Character
Name: Raimu "Rhyme" Bito
Series: The World Ends with You
Timeline: Post-Ending
Canon Resource Links: Game Page |Rhyme's Page
Personality: Rhyme is a huge contrast to her brother, Beat. While her brother is brash and quick to anger, Rhyme is calm and optimistic. She often is organizing her brother's thoughts, and eventually Shiki and Neku during the first Reapers game. Rhyme is very kind to everyone, and is always shown smiling (or atleast for the first part of the game). When they meet up with Neku and Shiki, Beat is mistrusting of them but Rhyme is willing to trust them immediately, viewing them all the same since they are stuck in the game.

Just because she's kind though, doesn't mean that Rhyme isn't going to let someone walk all over her. Even though Beat often runs in head first and doesn't really think, Rhyme's always first to reprimand him. She's determined to help people and very unafraid of standing up for what she believes in. Even after being thrown into the Reaper's game, Rhyme takes it all in stride and finds a way to help Beat out, even though her memories of him are taken away from her. Despite all this, she helps anyone out the best she can, and while her abilities aren't really shown in game, Rhyme seems to be a tough fighter in her own right.

However, Rhyme isn't one to discourage easily either, despite all the situations she's been put through. Not only did she die, but she also died with her brother trying to save her. She's thrown into the Reapers game and dies again within the game, so she could have a lot to be sad about. However, Rhyme smiles and continues to love everyone and everything despite all this. She works hard where she can and continues to be a light in the group's harder times.

Additionally, Rhyme is exceptionally loyal. When her brother ran away from home, she immediately followed him. Not only that, but Rhyme also saved Beat from being killed in the game, as well as saved Neku and Shiki from one of the noise with Beat. She stays loyal to her brother and her friends despite her short time in the game as a player, and continues to stay by her brother's side as a noise.

Regardless of her situation, Rhyme is able to always give the group a smile and continue to push on even if things don't look good. She's got a love for everyone around her and a loyalty that can't be stopped.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

Strengths:

Rhyme's Player abilities aren't specifically shown in game, however, it's implied that Rhyme is fairly strong, having gotten rid of a particularly tricky Noise one day of the game. However, her strengths really lie in her ability to keep a calm demeanor in an emergency situation. She's able to really organize everyone's thoughts so they can focus on the goal. Additionally, her positive attitude helps keep up the morale.

Rhyme is also very kind, which definitely helps her when meeting others. She's able to understand and help others without having to know much, but she also does it without question. However, Rhyme seems to be smart enough to know if someone is tricking her, given that she is often quick to figure things out, unlike her brother.

Weaknesses:

Rhyme's biggest weakness is her brother. In both cases of her death, she's either following Beat or trying to save him. Her overprotective nature towards him can blind her to common sense. She will do anything for him, even give up her own life, so if someone was able to capture or hurt him, Rhyme would give up instantly.

Rhyme also, as it's implied, tends to push her feelings over others. In all cases in the game, she's often thinking about how to help Beat and the others, so her own wants and dreams are often forgotten. If she does become upset, she would probably hide it and try to deal with her own feelings alone, given that she wouldn't want to burden anyone with it.

Samples
First Person Sample: [ It didn't take long for Rhyme to figure out the communication part of her device, so she was smiling into the video warmly.]

I don't think this is the Game, is it? After all, we just got back. If someone could let me know, I'd really appreciate it! [ A small laugh as there is a bell like sound in the general direction. In the picture view is Chingling, and it looks like Rhyme's already made a new friend ]

Though I can't complain, this little guy has been keeping me company. It'd be fun if we had partners like this, this time around. Beat would get jealous though.

Though, I guess it'd make it more like a Pokémon game then The Reaper's Game. Still, I think it'd be a little bit more fun.

[ Another soft laugh as she hugs the Chingling, turning off the feed. ]

Third Person Sample: Rhyme had been thinking about the situation for a few hours. She was alive again and given that she was just at home, she was confused. It was explained to her a little bit, but at the same time, a Pokémon? It seemed like a really weird dream, actually. Pinching her arm, she noticed that she didn't wake up, so maybe this wasn't. Standing up from where she was sitting, Rhyme started to walk. She needed to get moving, she supposed. Looking around subconsciously, she kind of smiled and rubbed her neck. Beat wasn't here, like Rhyme was used to. That made her pause for another moment, given that she wasn’t sure where he could be. Did he come here with her? Taking a step forward, she started to walk out of the town.

Rhyme wasn't afraid to go out on her own from New Bark Town, given that she was used to traveling off as quickly as possible first thing. It was a little lonely without Beat around; something was missing without his energetic self. Smiling to the Chingling that followed her, Rhyme decided she was going to name him ‘Beat’.

“You look like a bell, so I suppose it suits you to be named ‘Beat’.” Looking out to the route someone told her she needed to take, Rhyme was actually a little nervous. She'd never really gone out without her brother before. But Beat could actually be here, so why wouldn’t she go look for him! He’s get in trouble if he was on his own too long.

Nodding, she gave Beat the Chingling a smile, boosting herself up mentally.

"Beat would probably go running and fighting the first trainer he saw." Rhyme said, and the Pokémon made the little bell sound again. "So lets try to be a little bit more positive, right?"

With that, Rhyme took a step forward to get moving, knowing things will turn out for the best.
